Your session will include a safety briefing, marine awareness and Jetski operation training, so you do not need prior experience. You must be able to swim and be comfortable in deep open water.
You need to be 18 years of age to drive, and you can take a passenger. If you are a legal guardian your passenger can be no younger than 13 years of age who also must be a competent swimmer.
Your session will be up to 2 hrs long. This includes your preparation from a classroom safety briefing to practical introduction to the control and safety on your jetski. Later you will accompany an instructor on your tour to see the unique coastline of the Menai Strait.
You will ride in formation behind the instructor to become familiar with the jetski and its capabilities
We will supply all your safety equipment – helmet and buoyancy aid. You can bring your own wetsuit, but we also have a range of standard sized wetsuits available, free of charge. You will need to bring shoes that you are happy to get wet. You can hire/buy wetsuit socks. Sunshine reflects strongly from water so please bring sun lotion, if it rains We will supply safety glasses. You will need to bring a towel and a swimsuit to wear under your wetsuit. We recommend not taking on your trip any general personal possessions – like jewellery and sunglasses as, once overboard, they are likely to be lost for ever !
Our routes are dependent on the weather – certain wind and tide conditions can make a rough trip. You are going to get wet so rain is irrelevant. Rest assured rain is soon forgotten about once you start the joy of driving a jetski. If the weather conditions turn and it is viewed to be unsafe, your safari trip will be altered to safer areas, or prior totrip will simply be rearranged for another suitable date, as your safety is paramount.
You will be required to confirm you can swim (both drivers and passengers). You also need to be comfortable with deep water – please do not lie. If you cannot swim you may wish to take part in a powerboat ride. Anglesey Boat Trips is our Skippered Powerboat Rides down the Menai Strait.
